Singer-producer T-Pain is the man known for single handedly introducing this generation of music lovers and fellow artists to Auto-Tune, ushering in a new wave of (altered) sound to the now tech-driven musical landscape. But now the hip-hop hook man, who recently vowed to stop using Auto-Tune, is suing Antares Audio Technologies, the company that first created the technology.
As reported earlier, T-Pain was once a beloved ally of Antares, even inking a deal with the company in 2009 to create the “I Am T-Pain” iPhone App, which allowed users to Auto-Tune their voices on their smart phones.
Last month, however, T-Pain announced that he was ditching Auto-Tune to team with audio technology company, Izotope, and create a new vocal processor of his own called “The T-Pain Effect.” Sims 3 download full version free.
“I vow right here, right now, to never use Auto-Tune again,” said T-Pain. “I’m on to something that I think is bigger and better called “The T-Pain Effect.”
Now, according to Billboard, T-Pain is suing Antares in a bid to distance himself from the company.
In the lawsuit, T-Pain alleges that Antares is still using his likeness and image in their advertisements, packaging and marketing materials, and claims that the continued implication of an endorsement will confuse consumers and hurt the sales of his own technologies, including the “I Am T-Pain Mic.”
