Dark Knight is part of the 3-way tie for best PA growth, but his HP growth is fairly weak (same level as Ninja) and his MP growth (not that it matters) is horrifically bad. It should be noted that Dark Knight has the highest PA multiplier (not growth) by a mile, at 140%. The next closest is Monk at 129%. Luckily, HP is not that important — especially to Dark Knight who can steal HP — so leveling in the Dark Knight class will produce a powerhouse physical character for sure.

If you ever thought having your own version of Gaffgarion on your team would be awesome, Dark Knight has you covered. It has the HP stealing sword skills of Gaffgarion’s Dark Knight class and then some. Let’s be clear: Dark Knight pumps out a ton of damage, and it’s capable of putting any of your generic characters (or Ramza) on the same level as one of the many OP special characters you collect throughout the game.

It boosts all damage by 50% at the cost of all damage received being increased by 50%. With Dark Knight’s AoE skills you can run into a crowd and slaughter everything, then avoid any potential survivors’ attacks via Shirahadori, and refill your health with Sanguine Sword.

Movement Abilities – Final Fantasy Tactics Dark Knight
Dark Knight gives each gender the option to get the other gender’s gender-specific Movement Ability. Dancers get Jump +3 and, thus, male Dark Knights get Jump +3. Bards get Move +3 and, thus, female Dark Knights get Move +3. Obviously Move +3 is the better of the two and is totally worthwhile, competing for best-in-slot for the Movement Ability slot. Jump +3 is relatively worthless and is totally outclassed by Teleport, so don’t bother.
Final Fantasy Tactics Dark Knight Overall Assessment
Dark Knight is an amazing class that can put a generic unit, or Ramza, on par with your Orlandeaus and your Balthiers and all the other zany OP characters you pick up throughout the game. Its abilities do a ton of damage, its stats are good, and the only drawback is its insane unlock requirements. Unlocking this class on anyone but Ramza is a huge time investment.
Final Fantasy Tactics Wotl Cheats
I like this class on Ramza because I tend to think it fits him thematically — he trains under Gaffgarion, and by the end of the game you sort of suppose he deserves to be promoted from a lowly Squire to a “Knight” class. However, if you do pick this up on a generic, it really does feel like you’ve promoted your generic to a special character, so that’s nice.
That about covers it for the Final Fantasy Tactics Dark Knight Class. Be sure to check out the Games Section for more content like this and click here for more game guides related to FFT.
